Are you as ready for the Spring as I am? I am too through with the cold weather and sick to death of layers. I need some warm, margarita weather!!!
Though the snow is putting up a fight, in a matter of weeks, we’ll be able to store those coats away until next winter and pull out those suede biker jackets.
Peacock’s Rule Of Thumb: Don’t wait until the season comes to stock up on your seasonal wardrobe. Get them early or be forced to face price inflation and unavailable sizes. It’s about planning, people!!! Also, when shopping for “trendy” pieces, be sure they have an element of classic appeal. Classic cuts, like sheath dresses and well-tailored pants, never go out of style.
-Floral Prints
When aren’t floral prints a lot of fashionable fun? Florals were aplenty on the runways of Moschino, Mary Katrantzou and Just Cavalli as they were worked into wearable pieces from boxy tops, geometric skirts, dresses and pants. Floral prints are a welcomed burst of Spring in your closet that I guarantee you won’t be allergic to. Try out a floral print on skinny jeans or a bralet. If you were one of the lucky ones to grab some goodies from the Prabal Gurung for Target collection, now is the time to wear them. The collection was full of brightly colored florals print dresses and tops for days. If not, use the collection as inspiration on how to wear florals. If you are bold, try mixing and matching your flowers for an inspirational Garden of Eden outfit.
I found the flyest (as in the hottest/sickest/best) ankle length floral print pants at Kmart (featured below)!!!! Poorly made clothing deteriorate easily and are a definite hell no in the fashion department. Since I am not really a trend follower (yes, we know Alyssa), I like to look for pieces that are quality made, but won’t break the bank. You won’t always find high end items that tickle your fancies. Be open and flexible. You never know what gems you’ll fall upon. Look for items of substance at thrift and consignment stores that are well made, as these articles tend to transcend trends (say that five times fast) and can be worn when said trend is dead and buried.
Next Time, “Eastern” Influences.
Be Extraordinary- Alyssa Peacock
